Our solutions to your skin concerns

Acne

Acne is a common and problematic skin concern that people of many ages suffer. Acne can be caused by a multitude of factors that include poor skin regime, genetics, hormone imbalance, blockage of pores and inflammation, to name a few.

Our clinician’s aims are to tailor a skin regime that will produce a smooth and clear appearance over time. We offer a variety of options based on the severity and stage of your acne, whether it be educating and providing you with a daily routine of Medical grade Osmosis skin care products or treating your acne scars with IPL, microhydrobrasion or our collagen regeneration skin needling with Dermapen™ .

Treatments we offer for Acne:

Accordion lines

Accordion lines, also known as smile lines, are the static wrinkles that appear on the sides of your mouth when your face is at rest. This can be due to lack of collagen in the area or fat loss to the upper cheeks resulting in sagging towards the lower face. These forms of ageing can be easily improved using non-surgical techniques such as Dermal Fillers, Skin Care Regimes and the Dermapen. Our Dermal Clinicians will advise the most suitable treatment for you.

Treatments we offer for Accordion lines:

Bunny Lines

Bunny lines are the small wrinkles that lie between the eyes and nose and are most commonly caused by squinting. Over time and with continuous repetitive action, the lines begin to deepen. Our nurses are trained to treat this area of concern with anti- wrinkle injections.

Cheeks

Loss of volume can occur naturally as we age or have a dramatic weight loss, resulting in saggy or hollow cheeks. This loss of volume can be easily treated with simple non-surgical procedures. Our aim is to create a subtle enhancement to the cheekbones with dermal fillers administered by one of our experienced dermal clinicians. If you are after a less invasive but subtle alternative, we have fantastic results with our collagen regeneration skin needling Dermapen™

Crows feet

As we age, fine lines start to develop around the eyes due to normal everyday facial expressions such as laughing, smiling and squinting. We have preventative skin serums with active ingredients that assist in stimulating collagen. Simple office procedures such as the regenerating skin needling system to tighten and lift the skin and anti-wrinkle injections provide simple, fast and effective solutions.

Forehead lines

Due to repetitive lifting of the forehead with normal everyday facial expressions, over time these lines may start to leave permanent lines across the forehead.

Glabella lines are also an easily treated issue for many people; these furrows develop between the eyebrows and are one of the most commonly and effectively treated areas with anti- wrinkle injections, and sometimes dermal fillers. There are many non- surgical options to assist eliminating or reducing the severity of these lines. Our Dermal Clinicians can advise the most suitable options for you.

Lip enhancement can be achieved with dermal fillers to redefine the natural shape of the lip. Men and women of all ages enjoy treatments to correct an invisible top lip, unevenness, volume loss, upper lip wrinkles and creating definition. Our dermal Clinicians are experts in creating beautiful lips and have ongoing training to keep up with new knowledge and products available on the market.

Nasiolabial folds

Nasal labial folds are the two skin folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth. As we age, these lines or folds tend to worsen, this is typically due to the loss of fat in the upper parts of our face, mainly our cheeks, this forces our skin to head south and cause sagging. It is best to have a consultation with one of our Dermal Clinicians for a full face analysis to determine the best approach for your face.

Pigmentation

Pigmentation that develops on the skins surface is an effect caused by overstimulation of melanocytes within the skin. Melanin is the pigment released by the melanocyte cells when exposed to UV rays. Each individual reacts differently to this exposure; some develop a nice even tan, some burn and some develop patchy spots of uneven pigmentation. This typically occurs from years of tanning and being exposed without sunscreen.

There are several treatments that we provide to help treat and prevent pigmentation. Active serums with retinaldehyde, IPL rejuvenation, peels and regular application of a good sunscreen are all beneficial in keeping unsightly pigmentation and signs of skin damage at bay.

Pores

Pores or “follicles” are small openings in the surface of the skin that are designed to moisturise your skin by the secretion of an oily substance called sebum. Some people have an overproduction of this substance and the follicles become blocked. Overproduction of oils in the skins surface, hormonal imbalances and a poor skin regime can lead to large and inflamed pores.

Products such as an effective cleanser and serums with active ingredients, regular facials, microhydrabrasion and collagen regeneration skin needling with Dermapen™ are all fantastic treatments to help reduce the severity and size of your pores.

Scarring

Scars can differ greatly between individuals and are a common issue post surgery or injury. Factors that influence scarring include genetics, age, skin elasticity, nature of injury and ethnicity. Some treatments are effective in reducing the pigmentation that can occur with scarring; other treatments are designed to fade the scar and its general appearance. Our Dermal Clinicians at MPS can advise if you may be suitable for Dermapen, IPL or Dermal Fillers, to treat your scars.

Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin is often caused by using irritants such as harsh, chemical filled skin care products that often do more harm than good. Attractive packaging and prices often lead to individuals creating further damage to the skin and end up with a cupboard full of unused products.

Our skin care range of Medical grade Osmosis Products are natural, free of artificial fragrance, parabens and sulphates and gentle enough to use on the most sensitive skin. Osmosis uses technology that is designed to nuture and repair the skin, rather than causing more damage.

Unwanted Hair

If you have unwanted hair and tire of waxing or shaving, IPL hair removal may be for you. IPL (Intense Pulse Light) hair removal has proved to be one of the most effective ways of permanently reducing hair on many parts of the body. The areas that we treat at MPS Skin Clinic include face, arms, underarms, chest, buttocks, abdomen, back, shoulders, legs, and bikini line. To ascertain whether you are suitable for the treatment, we will book you in for a free consultation and test patch with one of our Dermal Clinicians. Please note that darker skin tones cannot be treated with IPL as it may result in hyper pigmentation and an undesired result. Tanning, whether it be fake or real is also not recommended before the treatment as advised by our experiences Dermal Clinicians.

Veins and Capillaries

Telangiectasia or broken capillaries are small veins also know as spider veins that are dilated, prominent and run underneath the surface of the skin. These often give the appearance of red/purple, flushed skin. Treatment of these broken capillaries is popular, especially on the face and chest area. Causative factors include overexposure to UV rays, genetics, high alcohol consumption, local trauma and hormonal imbalances.

We effectively treat this condition with IPL (Intense Pulse Light), which is the Gold Standard for targeting and treating broken capillaries. IPL works by collapsing the dilated vein and returning it to a non- visible size.

Some individuals only require one session, others may require several. Our Dermal Clinicians are trained to treat you in the safest, most effective way to give you the results you desire.
